How to enable and set up AI summary
AI Review Summary creates a short, AI-generated summary of what customers are saying about a product. It appears on your product page, helping shoppers quickly understand common opinions without reading every review.
This guide shows you how to enable AI Review Summary and make sure it’s ready to generate summaries for your products.
How to enable AI Review Summary
To turn on AI Review Summary:
- Go to Manage Reviews → AI review summary settings (click the AI summary tab)
- Toggle AI Review Summary to On.
Once enabled, summaries are generated automatically for products that have sufficient review data. This process may take a few minutes to complete.
- View the generated AI summaries for your products
After summaries are generated, you can review them to confirm the content in either of these ways:
- Click View summary to see the AI summary for a product
- Or open the Product review details page to view the summary alongside its reviews
- Show AI summaries on your storefront
To display AI summaries to shoppers:
- Go to Show reviews > Review Box
- Enable AI Review Summary section in the widget settings.
Once enabled, shoppers will see a short AI-generated summary of review sentiment directly on your Review Box on product page
2. Which products will show an AI summary?
A product displays an AI summary when it meets the following rules:
- Has at least 20 published reviews with text. (Star-only and media-only reviews do not count.)
- Is not in the Excluded products list.
- AI summaries are generated automatically once criteria are met.
This ensures the summary is based on real, meaningful feedback.
3. Why AI summary not showing?
If you don’t see an AI review summary on your Review Box even though the feature in enabled, check these common reasons:
- Is the product listed in Excluded products list?
- Does the product have ≥ 20 published reviews with text?
- Is AI Review Summary feature enabled ?
- Is the AI Review Summary section enabled in Review Box widget settings?
- Is the product’s summary currently generating?
Once the product meets all requirements, the summary will appear automatically on your storefront.
